Terms of Service
These terms cover the cleaning we do for you and your use of this website. We have tried to write them the way we would explain them at your kitchen table.
Effective September 17, 2026
1. Who we are
Maid Best provides residential cleaning in Louisville and eastern Jefferson County, Kentucky. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean Maid Best, and “you” means the person who books a visit.
2. Quotes and pricing
- A quote from our website is an estimate based on what you tell us: the size of the home, bedrooms and bathrooms, pets, how often, and any add-ons.
- If the home is materially different from what was described, we will tell you before we start and give you the choice to adjust the service or reschedule. We will not change the price mid-visit without talking to you.
- Prices for future visits may change with at least 14 days notice. Anything already on the schedule stays at the price you were quoted.
3. Scheduling, getting in, and cancelling
- We give you an arrival window rather than an exact time. Traffic, weather and the home before yours all move the schedule.
- You are responsible for giving us a way in: a key, a code, a smart lock, or being home. If you give us an alarm code, tell us how to disarm and rearm it.
- If we arrive and cannot get in, or the home is not accessible, we may charge a lockout fee of half the visit price.
- To cancel or reschedule free of charge, tell us at least 24 hours before your arrival window. Inside that window we may charge half the visit price.
- We may reschedule for weather, illness or staffing. We will tell you as early as we can, and we will not charge you for a visit we moved.
4. Pets, children, and people in the home
- Tell us about pets when you book. We are glad to work around them, but we will not handle aggressive animals, and our cleaners may leave a home if they feel unsafe. A visit ended for safety may be charged as a lockout.
- We do not supervise children or pets, we do not administer medication, and we do not handle animal waste beyond ordinary litter or cage areas agreed in advance.
- Please put away valuables, cash, jewelry, firearms and sensitive documents before a visit.
5. What we do not clean
For the safety of our cleaners and your home, we do not:
- Climb higher than a two-step stool, or work outside on ladders.
- Move furniture or appliances heavier than about 25 pounds.
- Handle biohazards, human or animal waste beyond ordinary cleanup, mold remediation, pest infestation, hoarding conditions, or construction debris.
- Clean exterior windows above the ground floor, chimneys, or crawl spaces.
- Use products we are not familiar with, unless you ask us to in writing and accept the result.
6. Payment
- We collect a payment method when you book and charge it after each completed visit, never before.
- By saving a card with us you authorize us to charge it after each completed visit, at the price in your quote plus any add-ons you ask for. You will get a receipt by email after every charge, and you can update or remove the card at any time.
- If a charge fails we will contact you, and we may pause service until it is sorted out.
- Gratuity is never expected and is never added automatically.
7. Our satisfaction guarantee
Our guarantee, and the limits on it, are set out at maidbestlou.com/guarantee and form part of these terms.
8. Damage and loss
- We carry liability insurance and bonding. Certificates are available on request.
- If we damage something, tell us within 72 hours of the visit so we can look at it. We will repair, replace or reimburse at fair market value rather than the cost of a brand-new replacement.
- We are not responsible for damage caused by existing wear, poor prior installation, items already broken or unstable, or surfaces that need special care which we were not told about.
- Except where Kentucky law does not allow it, our total liability for any visit is limited to what you paid for that visit, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.
9. Hiring our cleaners
10. Ending service
Either of us can stop at any time. Tell us before your next scheduled visit and you will not be charged for it. We may decline or end service for unsafe conditions, abusive behavior toward our cleaners, or non-payment.
11. Disputes and governing law
- These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
- Before anyone files anything, we both agree to try to sort it out directly, in writing, for at least 30 days.
- Any claim that cannot be resolved that way will be brought in the state or federal courts in Jefferson County, Kentucky.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version in effect when you booked governs that visit. If we make a material change we will post it here with a new effective date and tell you before your next visit.
